Sayyiduna Rumaythah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); at that time I was so close to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that, had I wished, I could have kissed the "Seal of Prophethood" between his (peace and blessings be upon him) shoulders. On the day Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) died, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Throne of the Most Merciful has shaken for him."
Ahmad recorded something similar, and al-Tabarani also recorded it, in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and these words of the narration are his. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih except his shaykh, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
