وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ : كَلَّمَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَامِرَ بْنَ فُهَيْرَةَ بِشَيْءٍ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَهْلًا يَا طَلْحَةُ ، إِنَّهُ قَدْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا كَمَا شَهِدْتَهُ ، وَخَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ لِمَوَالِيهِمْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَفِيهِ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said something harsh to Sayyiduna Amir bin Fuhayrah, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Talhah! Stop! For he too took part in Badr just as you took part in it, and the best of you are those who are best towards their mawali (freed slaves)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in all three books; its chain contains Mus'ab bin Mus'ab, who is da'if (weak).
