وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَبْنِي الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَإِذَا نَقَلَ النَّاسُ حَجَرًا نَقَلَ عَمَّارٌ حَجَرَيْنِ ، فَإِذَا نَقَلُوا لَبِنَةً نَقَلَ لِبِنْتَيْنِ . قَالَ : فَذَكَرَهُ . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was having the mosque built. The other people would carry one stone each, whereas Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) was carrying two stones at a time; the people would carry one brick each, and Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) would carry two bricks at a time. After this the narrator mentioned the full narration.
