Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1553

Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be cautious for three days because of the heaviness of the blood; after that he would have physical contact. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: From her,
this narration has also been recorded by Imam Ibn Majah and others, but it does not contain these words: "He would avoid the blood for three days".
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Sa'id bin Bashir, whom Shu'bah declared "thiqah (trustworthy)", and there is disagreement about using him as evidence.
