بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْعَبَّاسِ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَمَنْ جُمِعَ مَعَهُ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ
Reports on al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), paternal uncle of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and those of his children mentioned with him

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اسْتَوْصُوا بِعَمِّي الْعَبَّاسِ خَيْرًا ; فَإِنَّهُ بَقِيَّةُ آبَائِي ; فَإِنَّمَا عَمُّ الرَّجُلِ صِنْوُ أَبِيهِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خِرَاشٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَقَالَ : رُبَّمَا أَخْطَأَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Accept my counsel to treat my uncle Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) well! For he is the remnant of my forefathers, and a man's uncle stands in the place of his father."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Khirash, who is da'if (weak). Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and he said: He sometimes made mistakes. The remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy.
