بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ حَمْزَةَ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَرَضِيَ عَنْهُ

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَفْضَلُ الشُّهَدَاءِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ حَكِيمُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ الْأَزْدِيُّ : فِيهِ نَظَرٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most excellent of all the martyrs in the sight of Allah Almighty is Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Hakim bin Zayd, about whom al-Azdi said: There is some concern about him (fihi nazar). The rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
