عَنْ أُمِّ خَالِدٍ بِنْتِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ أَنَّهَا دَخَلَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " مَنْ هَذِهِ ؟ " . فَقَالُوا : بَنَتُ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ ، فَقَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ " . - يَعْنِي الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ - .
It is reported about Sayyidah Umm Khalid (may Allah be pleased with her) bint al-Aswad bin Abd Yaghuth that she came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who is this? The people said: She is the daughter of al-Aswad bin Abd Yaghuth. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All praise belongs to Allah Almighty, who brings forth the living from the dead." What the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant was that He brings forth the believer from the disbeliever.
