Sayyidah Durrah bint Abi Lahab (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I was with Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came into the house and said: Bring me water for ablution (wudu). Sayyidah Durrah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Aishah and I rushed towards the vessel, and I reached the vessel before her and took it. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution, raised his gaze towards me and said: "You are from me and I am from you." That lady narrates: Then a man was brought, and he said: I did not do it; it was said to me. That lady narrates: This man had asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while he was on the pulpit (minbar): Who is the best of people? the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who has the most understanding of the religion of Allah and who most upholds the ties of kinship." After this the narrator named Sharik mentioned two more things, which I do not remember.
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
