قَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ : أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ أُمُّ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، مَوْلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَتْ لِأُخْتِ خَدِيجَةَ فَوَهَبَتْهَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَنْكَحَهَا زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ ، وَيُقَالُ : اسْمُهَا بَرَكَةُ .
Imam al-Tabarani states: Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her), who is the mother of Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), was the maidservant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She had been the maidservant of the sister of Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her); that lady gave her to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her to Sayyiduna Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him). According to one view, her real name is Barakah.
