A narration is also reported from her, in which she narrates: I never saw anyone with better character than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I saw that he mounted me on the back of his she-camel at night (on the way) from Khaybar. I would begin to doze, and my head would strike the back of the saddle, so he would touch me with his hand and say: Easy now, O daughter of Huyayy! Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached al-Sahba', he said: O Safiyyah! I offer you my excuse for what I did to your people; they had said such and such things about me.
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration with several chains. The narrators of the first route are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator Humayd bin Hilal did not live in the time of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her). Among the narrators of this narration is a narrator named Rabi', the nephew of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her); I do not know him. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
