عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - خَيْبَرَ وَصَفِيَّةُ عَرُوسٌ فِي مَجَاسِدِهَا ، فَرَأَتْ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَقَعَتْ عَلَى صَدْرِهَا ، فَقَصَّتْهَا عَلَى زَوْجِهَا ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ مَا تَمَنَّيْنَ إِلَّا هَذَا الْمَلِكَ الَّذِي نَزَلَ بِنَا . فَافْتَتَحَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَضَرَبَ عُنُقَ زَوْجِهَا صَبْرًا ، وَتَعَرَّضَ لَهَا مَنْ هُنَالِكَ مِنْ فِتْيَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَتَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَلْقَى لَهُمْ تَمْرًا عَلَى سَفِيفٍ ، وَقَالَ : " كُلُوا وَلِيمَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ النَّهَّاسُ بْنُ قَهْمٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ مُجْمَعٌ عَلَيْهِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped at Khaybar, Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) had only recently been married. She saw in a dream that the sun had come down onto her chest. She told this dream to her husband, and her husband said: By Allah, you long for none other than this king who has come down upon our land. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Khaybar, and Sayyidah Safiyyah's (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was bound and beheaded. The young men of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who were there sought to have Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married this lady. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had dates spread out on a mat for them at her wedding feast and said: Eat the wedding feast (walimah) of the Messenger of Allah for Safiyyah.
