Yazid bin al-Asamm narrates: Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), fell seriously ill in Makkah, and at that time none of her nephews was with her. She said: Take me out of Makkah, for I will not die here; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told me that I will not die in Makkah. The narrator says: So they carried her to Sarif, to the tree where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had consummated his marriage with her, beneath which was the spot of the tent. The narrator says: She passed away there. When we placed her in her lahd (niche of the grave), I took my cloak and placed it under her cheek in the lahd, but Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) took that cloak and threw it away.
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
