بَابُ فَضْلِ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا
The virtues of Hafsah bint Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : دَخَلَ عُمَرُ عَلَى حَفْصَةَ وَهِيَ تَبْكِي ، فَقَالَ : مَا يُبْكِيكِ ؟ لَعَلَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - طَلَّقَكِ ! إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - طَلَّقَكِ وَرَاجَعَكِ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، وَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ كَانَ طَلَّقَكِ لَا كَلَّمْتُكِ كَلِمَةً أَبَدًا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and she was weeping. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Why are you weeping? Perhaps the Messenger of Allah has divorced you. The Messenger of Allah divorced you before as well and took you back because of me. By Allah! If he has divorced you now, I will never speak a word to you.
