Qatadah bin Di'amah states: Sayyidah Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away three years before the Hijrah. That lady was the first among men and women to believe in the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In the time of Jahiliyyah (that is, before the proclamation of prophethood) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married no woman other than her, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had no children from any (honoured wife) other than her.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Zuhayr bin al-Ala', whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and others declared da'if (weak). Al-Tabarani recorded something similar in abridged form from Urwah bin al-Zubayr, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
