Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1507

وَعَنْ أَبِي سَلَامٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بَالَ ثُمَّ تَلَا آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ - قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ : آيًا مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ - قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Abu Sallam narrates: Someone who saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told me that he urinated and then, before touching water (that is, before performing ablution), recited some verses of the Qur'an. (Here the narrator Hushaym reported one word differently.)
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
