Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 14892

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was in her house when she heard a sound in Madinah and asked: "What is this sound?" The people said: "A caravan of Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) has arrived from Syria, carrying goods of every kind." It was seven hundred camels, and Madinah resounded with the noise of their arrival. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I saw Abd al-Rahman bin Awf entering Paradise crawling." When this reached Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "If I am able, I will surely enter it standing." So he dedicated those camels, with their saddles and their loads, in the way of Allah.
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, Imam al-Bazzar recorded something similar, and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Umarah bin Zadhan, whom Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) and al-Daraqutni declared da'if (weak). Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) had the honour of being present at Badr and al-Hudaybiyah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) testified that he would enter Paradise, and also prayed behind him.
