Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abd al-Rahman, you are one of the wealthy, and you will enter Paradise crawling. So lend to Allah Almighty, so that He frees your feet." Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "How much shall I lend" (the narrator is unsure whether the words were:) "how much shall I give out?" Then Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) left, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him a message, saying: "Tell Abd al-Rahman to host the guest, feed the hungry and give to the one who asks, for that will make up for many of the things that are found in him."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Khalid bin Yazid bin Abi Malik, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), and the part saying that he will enter Paradise crawling is not established.
