وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ : مَاتَ سَعْدٌ وَمَرْوَانُ وَالِي الْمَدِينَةِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، وَمَاتَ سَنَةَ خَمْسَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ .

Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr narrates: When Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, Marwan was the governor of Madinah at that time, and he led the funeral prayer for Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away in the year 55 AH.
