وَعَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ زَمَنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بَعْدَ حِجَّتِهِ الْأُولَى ، وَهُو ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَثَمَانِينَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَرُوِيَ نَحْوُهُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ .

Ibrahim bin Sa'd narrates: Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), after his first Hajj; at that time Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) was eighty-three years old.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). He also recorded something similar from Yahya bin Bukayr.
