وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ : أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَقُولُ : كَانَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَى الْحَقِّ مَنِ اتَّبَعَهُ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقَّ ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَهُ تَرَكَ الْحَقَّ ، عَهْدٌ مَعْهُودٌ قَبْلَ يَوْمِهِ هَذَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَالِكُ بْنُ جَعُونَةَ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ أَحَدِ الْإِسْنَادَيْنِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to say: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is upon the truth. Whoever follows him follows the truth, and whoever abandons him abandons the truth. This is a covenant that was made before this day of his.
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Malik bin Ja'unah, whom I do not know; the rest of the narrators of one of the two chains are thiqat (trustworthy).
