Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Ali bin Abi Talib has been given three distinctions; if I had even one of them, it would be dearer to me than being given red camels." It was asked: O Commander of the Believers, what are they? Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "His marriage to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); that they could stay in the mosque with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a state in which it is not permissible for anyone else to come into the mosque; and the banner being given to him at the Battle of Khaybar."
Abu Ya'la recorded it in al-Kabir; its chain contains Abdullah bin Ja'far bin Najih, who is matruk (abandoned).
