عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ : وَجِعْتُ وَجَعًا ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَقَامَنِي فِي مَكَانِهِ ، وَقَامَ يُصَلِّي وَأَلْقَى عَلَيَّ طَرَفَ ثَوْبِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " قَدْ بَرِئْتَ يَا ابْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، لَا بَأْسَ عَلَيْكَ . مَا سَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا سَأَلْتُ لَكَ مِثْلَهُ ، وَلَا سَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَانِيهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لِي : لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدَكَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنِ اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِمْ .

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was suffering from an ailment, so I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had me stand in his place, then he stood and began to pray, and he cast the edge of his garment over me. Then he said: "O son of Abu Talib, you have recovered; there is no harm upon you. I have not asked Allah Almighty for anything except that I asked for the like of it for you, and I have not asked Allah Almighty for anything except that He gave it to me, except that I was told: There will be no prophet after you."
