Wahb bin Hamzah narrates: I accompanied Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on the journey from Madinah to Makkah, and I saw some things from him that I disliked. So I said: "When I return, I will complain about you to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." When I arrived and met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I said: "I saw such and such from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not say this, for after me he is the closest of people to you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Dukayn, whom Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned and whom no one has declared weak. The rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
