Umar bin Ibrahim al-Yashkuri states: I heard my mother narrating that her mother went to the House of Allah for Hajj, and in those days the House had two doors. That woman states: When I completed my tawaf, I went to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). That woman says: I said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O Mother of the Believers! One of your sons has sent you his greetings of peace, and the people have turned greatly against Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), so what do you say about him?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "May Allah Almighty curse whoever curses him; whoever curses him, may Allah Almighty curse him" - I think she said these words three times - and then she stated: "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) resting his thigh against Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and I was wiping the sweat from the forehead of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while revelation was descending upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married two of his daughters to Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), one after the other, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him): 'O Uthaym, write!'" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Allah Almighty would only bring a servant this close to His Prophet if that servant were honoured in the sight of Allah Almighty."
