عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ قَالَ : لَقَدِ اخْتَبَأْتُ عِنْدَ رَبِّي عَشْرًا : إِنِّي لَرَابِعُ أَرْبَعَةٍ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَمَا تَغَنَّيْتُ ، وَلَا تَمَنَّيْتُ ، وَلَا وَضَعْتُ يَمِينِي عَلَى فَرْجِي مُنْذُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَمَا مَرَّتْ عَلَيَّ جُمْعَةٌ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَعْتِقُ فِيهَا رَقَبَةً إِلَّا أَلَّا يَكُونَ عِنْدِي فَأَعْتِقَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، وَلَا زَنَيْتُ فِي جَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَلَا إِسْلَامٍ . .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ دَقِيقِ الْعِيدِ فِي الْإِمَامِ : وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ دَقِيقِ الْعِيدِ فِي الْإِمَامِ : وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I have stored away ten things with my Lord (they are these): I am the fourth person to have accepted Islam. I have never sung, I have never wished (for sin), and since I gave my pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) I have never placed my right hand on my private parts. Since I accepted Islam, I have freed a slave every week without fail; if it ever happened that I had no slave with me, I would free one afterwards. And I never committed fornication, neither in the time of Ignorance nor in the time of Islam.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher al-Miqdam bin Dawud, who is da'if (weak); Ibn Daqiq al-'Id said in al-Imam that he has been declared trustworthy.
