وَعَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي غَزَاةٍ ، فَأَصَابَ النَّاسَ جَهْدٌ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ الْكَآبَةَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، وَالْفَرَحَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَا تَغِيبُ الشَّمْسُ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِرِزْقٍ " . فَعَلِمَ عُثْمَانُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ سَيَصْدُقَانِ ، فَاشْتَرَى عُثْمَانُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ رَاحِلَةً بِمَا عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الطَّعَامِ ، فَوَجَّهَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ مِنْهَا بِتِسْعَةٍ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَا هَذَا ؟ " . قَالَ : أَهْدَى إِلَيْكَ عُثْمَانُ ، فَعُرِفَ الْفَرَحُ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَالْكَآبَةُ فِي وُجُوهِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَدْ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى رُئِيَ بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ يَدْعُو لِعُثْمَانَ دُعَاءً مَا سَمِعْتُهُ دَعَا لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلَهُ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ : اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ عُثْمَانَ اللَّهُمَّ افْعَلْ بِعُثْمَانَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
وَرَوَاهُ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ رُؤْيَا رَآهَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - وَتَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
وَرَوَاهُ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ رُؤْيَا رَآهَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - وَتَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a military expedition, and the people were struck by hunger, until I saw signs of distress on the faces of the Muslims and signs of joy on the faces of the hypocrites. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw this situation, he said: By Allah! Before the sun sets, Allah Almighty will send you provision. Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) knew that Allah and His Messenger speak the truth, so Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) bought fourteen she-camels, buying them along with the food that was on them, and then sent nine of them to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw them, he asked: Where have these come from? The man said: Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) has sent them to you as a gift. Joy appeared on the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and distress appeared on the faces of the hypocrites. Then I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raise both his hands until the whiteness of his armpits could be seen; he was supplicating for Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) make this supplication before or after that. He was saying: "O Allah! Grant to Uthman. O Allah! Do this for Uthman."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Sa'id bin Muhammad al-Warraq, who is da'if (weak). He also recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and it contains a dream which Imam al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) saw; it will be mentioned later, if Allah wills.
