وَعَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ : مَا رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ قَطُّ إِلَّا وَبَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ مَلَكٌ يُسَدِّدُهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِأَسَانِيدَ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . وَيَأْتِي قَوْلُ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ كَذَلِكَ فِي وَفَاةِ عُمَرَ .

It is reported that Abu Wa'il said: "I never saw Umar except that there was an angel between his eyes guiding him aright."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it with various chains, and the narrators of one of these chains are the narrators of the Sahih. Later, in the account of the death of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), a similar statement of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) will come.
