Majma al-Zawaid 14152 — The respect of animals towards the Prophet ﷺ
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : كَانَ لِآلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَحْشٌ ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لَعِبَ وَاشْتَدَّ ، وَأَقْبَلَ وَأَدْبَرَ ، فَإِذَا أَحَسَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - رَبَضَ فَلَمْ يَتَرَمْرَمْ مَا دَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي الْبَيْتِ ; كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ يُؤْذِيَهُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The family of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a wild animal. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out, it would play, run and race about, coming and going; and when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came in, it would sit down calmly and not move as long as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained in the house, disliking that it might cause any harm to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la, al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, and the narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
