وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : بِنَحْوِهِ وَزَادَ فِيهِ : وَأَهْدَتِ امْرَأَةٌ يَهُودِيَّةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - شَاةً سَمِيطًا فَلَمَّا مَدَّ يَدَهُ إِلَيْهَا لِيَأْكُلَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ عُضْوًا مِنْ أَعْضَائِهَا يُخْبِرُنِي أَنَّهَا مَسْمُومَةٌ " . فَامْتَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَامْتَنَعَ مَنْ مَعَهُ ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى الْيَهُودِيَّةِ فَقَالَ : " مَا حَمَلَكِ عَلَى أَنْ أَفْسَدْتِيهَا بَعْدَ أَنْ أَصْلَحْتِيهَا ؟ " . قَالَتْ : أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَعْلَمَ إِنْ كُنْتَ نَبِيًّا فَإِنَّكَ سَتَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ غَيْرَ نَبِيٍّ أَرَحْتُ النَّاسَ مِنْكَ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ مُبَارَكِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
A similar narration is transmitted from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), but in it these words are additional: "A Jewish woman gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a goat (its meat) as a gift, in which poison had been mixed. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stretched out his hand towards that meat to eat, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'One of its limbs has told me that poison has been mixed into it.' So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions held back from it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message summoning that woman and asked: 'Why did you do this, spoiling it after you had prepared it well?' She said: 'I wanted to know: if you are a prophet, you would come to know of it, and if you were not a prophet, I would relieve the people of you.'"
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Mubarak bin Fadalah; he is thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him.
