Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people who had hunted a doe and had tied it to a tent pole. The doe said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have given birth; I have two little fawns. Grant me permission to go and suckle them, then I will come back." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Release her, so that she may go to her young and suckle them; then she will come back to you." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, who will be responsible for that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will." They released her and she went away; she suckled them, then came back to those people, and they tied her up again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you sell her?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah! She is yours." Then they released her, and she went away.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Salih al-Murri, and he is da'if (weak).
