بَابٌ فِي أَسْمَائِهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : بَيْنَا أَنَا أَمْشِي فِي طَرِيقِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَحْمَدُ وَنَبِيُّ الرَّحْمَةِ وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ وَالْحَاشِرُ وَالْمُقَفِّي وَنَبِيُّ الْمَلَاحِمِ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ وَفِيهِ سُوءُ حِفْظٍ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once I was walking along a road of Madinah when I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am the Prophet of Mercy, the Prophet of Repentance, al-Hashir (the Gatherer), al-Muqaffi (the one who came last) and the Prophet of the Great Battles (al-Malahim)."
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Bazzar recorded it. The narrators of Imam Ahmad are the narrators of the "Sahih", except for Asim bin Bahdalah, and he is thiqah (trustworthy), though there is weakness in his memory.
