وَعَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : كَانَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَوْلَ الْكَعْبَةِ فِيهِمْ أَبُو جَهْلٍ لَعَنَهُ اللَّهُ ، فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ : " قَبُحَتِ الْوُجُوهُ " ، فَخُرِسُوا ، فَمَا أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ ، وَلَقَدْ نَظَرْتُ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْلٍ يَعْتَذِرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : أَمْسِكْ عَنَّا ، وَيَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا أُمْسِكُ عَنْكُمْ ، أَوْ أَقْتُلُكُمْ " ، فَقَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ لَعَنَهُ اللَّهُ : أَنْتَ تَقْدِرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُ يَقْتُلُكُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَبِيبٍ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A group of the polytheists were around the Ka'bah, and among them was Abu Jahl, may Allah curse him. Meanwhile the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came; he came up to those people and stood by them, and he said: "May these faces be disfigured!" Then all of those people were struck dumb; not one of them said a word. The narrator says: I saw Abu Jahl begin to offer excuses before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Leave us alone." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will not leave you alone; rather, I will kill you." Abu Jahl said: "Will you be able to do that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will have you killed."
Al-Bazzar recorded it from his teacher Ali bin Shabib, and I do not know him; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
