وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَلَا إِنَّ عِيسَى بْنَ مَرْيَمَ لَيْسَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ نَبِيٌّ وَلَا رَسُولٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ خَلِيفَتِي فِي أُمَّتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي ، أَلَا إِنَّهُ يَقْتُلُ الدَّجَّالَ ، وَيَكْسِرُ الصَّلِيبَ ، وَيَضَعُ الْجِزْيَةَ ، وَتَضَعُ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ، أَلَا فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقْرَأْ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ " . قُلْتُ : فِي الصَّحِيحِ بَعْضُهُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ السَّدُوسِيُّ ، وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَضَعَّفَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) is such that there is no prophet and no messenger between him and me. However, after me he will be my successor among my Ummah. Beware! He will kill the Dajjal, break the cross and abolish the jizyah, and at that time war will come to an end. Beware! Whoever among you lives to see his time should convey the greeting of peace to him." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of this narration is mentioned in the Sahih.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Muhammad bin Uqbah al-Sadusi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and Abu Hatim declared da'if (weak).
