Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Giving charity in secret extinguishes the anger of the Lord; doing good deeds protects against evil deaths; and keeping ties of kinship increases one's lifespan and removes poverty. Recite 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no might nor power except with Allah) often, for it is one of the treasures of Paradise, and in it is a cure for ninety-nine ailments, the least of which is worry."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Asbagh, who is not known; the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy, though there is disagreement about them.
