Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever helps a distressed person, Allah Almighty records for him seventy-three good deeds; by one of them He sets right that person's affairs of this world and the Hereafter, and seventy-two are a means of raising his ranks."
Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it; the chain of both contains a narrator, Ziyad bin Abi Hassan, who is matruk (abandoned).
