وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْعِمَامَةِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped over his leather socks and his turban.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ufayr bin Ma'dan, and he is da'if (weak).
