Thanking a favour and recompensing the one who did it

وَعَنْ طَلْحَةَ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ أُولِيَ مَعْرُوفًا فَلْيَذْكُرْهُ ، فَمَنْ ذَكَرَهُ فَقَدْ شَكَرَهُ ، وَمَنْ كَتَمَهُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَهُ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him): the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a kindness done to him should mention it; whoever mentions it has thanked him for it, and whoever conceals it has been ungrateful for it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
