وَعَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَمَعَهَا ابْنَاهَا فَسَأَلَتْهُ فَأَعْطَاهَا ثَلَاثَ تَمَرَاتٍ ، لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ تَمْرَةٌ ، فَأَعْطَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ تَمْرَةً فَأَكَلَهَا ، ثُمَّ نَظَرَا إِلَى أُمِّهِمَا ، فَشَقَّتِ التَّمْرَةَ بِنِصْفَيْنِ وَأَعْطَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا نِصْفَ تَمْرَةٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " قَدْ رَحِمَهَا اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَتِهَا ابْنَيْهَا " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ خَدِيجُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُعْفِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and her two sons were with her. She asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for something, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her three dates, so that each of them would get one date. She gave each of them one date, which he ate; then the two children looked at their mother. She split the third date into two halves and gave each of them half a date. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because of this woman's mercy towards her two sons, Allah Almighty has shown mercy to her."
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Khudayj bin Mu'awiyah al-Ju'fi, and he is da'if (weak).
