Wiping over the leather socks
Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1347

وَعَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّهُ نَزَعَ خُفَّيْهِ ، فَنَظَرُوا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ : أَمَا إِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا ، وَلَكِنْ حُبِّبَ لِيَ الْوُضُوءُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ .
It is narrated about Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) that he took off his leather socks, and the people began to look at him. He said: I have seen the Messenger of Allah wiping over them, but performing ablution is dear to me.
