Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the Children of Israel there was a man who was a merchant. Sometimes his wealth decreased and sometimes it increased. He said: 'There is no good in this trade; I should seek a trade that is better than this.' So he built a hermitage and began to live in it, adopting the life of a monk." The narrator said: After this the narrator mentioned the hadith as before, that is, similar to the hadith about the story of Jurayj that is mentioned in the "Sahih".
Ahmad recorded it.
