Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13318

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Poetry has the status of speech; the good of it (poetry) is like good speech, and the bad of it (poetry) is like bad speech."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. He said: From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
this is reported only with this chain. Its chain is hasan (good), and Allah knows best.
