وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْمَدَّاحِينَ فَاحْثُوا فِي وُجُوهِهِمُ التُّرَابَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ أَبِي بَزَّةَ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَهُوَ حَسَنُ الْإِسْنَادِ لَوْ سَلِمَ مِنْ هَذَا .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When you see those who praise excessively, throw dust in their faces."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Ahmad bin Muhammad bin al-Qasim bin Abi Bazzah, and I do not know him. It would be hasan (good) in its chain if it were free of him.
