وَعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حِمَاسٍ - وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَيْسَ لِلنِّسَاءِ سَرَاةُ الطَّرِيقِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ حَاجِبٍ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Himas (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of being a Companion, narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Women have no right to walk in the middle of the road."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher Ishaq bin Hajib, and I do not know him.
