وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا يُقَالُ لَهُ : أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ لَبَنٌ مِنَ الْبَقِيعِ نَهَارًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَلَا خَمَّرْتَ ، وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِعُودٍ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الدَّبَّاسِ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man named Abu Humayd came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during the day from al-Baqi' with a vessel containing milk. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not cover it, even if only by placing a stick across it?"
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Ibrahim bin Sulayman al-Dabbas, whose case is different, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
