وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْحِجْرِ ، وَإِذَا نِمْتُمْ فَأَطْفِئُوا السِّرَاجَ ، فَإِنَّ الْفَأْرَةَ تَأْخُذُ الْفَتِيلَ فَتَحْرِقُ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ ، وَأَوْكُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ ، وَخَمِّرُوا الشَّرَابَ ، وَغَلِّقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ بِاللَّيْلِ " . قَالُوا لِقَتَادَةَ : مَا يُكَرِّهُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ فِي الْحِجْرِ ؟ قَالَ : يُقَالُ : إِنَّهَا مَسَاكِنُ الْجِنِّ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should ever urinate into a hole. When you go to sleep, put out the lamp, for a mouse sometimes takes hold of the wick (of the lamp) and burns the household with it. Tie up the mouths of the waterskins, cover the drinks, and close the doors at night." People asked Qatadah: "Why did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) consider urinating into a hole disliked?" He replied: "It is said that these holes are the dwellings of the jinn."
