Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13246

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(Before night falls) close your doors, cover your vessels, tie up the mouths of your waterskins, and put out your lamps, for they have not been given permission to come upon you (in such a state)."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except al-Faraj bin Fadalah, whose case is different, though he has been declared trustworthy.
