وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : وَسَمَ الْعَبَّاسُ بَعِيرًا لَهُ فِي وَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " فَهَلَّا فِي غَيْرِ الْوَجْهِ ؟ " . فَقَالَ : وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا أَسِمُ إِلَّا فِي آخِرِ عَظْمٍ مِنْهُ . فَوَسَمَ فِي الْجَاعِرَتَيْنِ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، عَنْ شَيْخِهِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الطَّحَّانِ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) branded a camel on its face. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Why did you not put it somewhere other than the face?" He said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, from now on I will brand only on its rearmost bone." So he branded on the raised bone near the tail.
Al-Bazzar recorded it from his teacher Isma'il, from Khalid al-Tahhan. I do not know Isma'il. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
