وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لِأَصْحَابِهِ : " تَدْرُونَ أَزْنَى الزِّنَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ؟ " . قَالُوا : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ . قَالَ : " فَإِنَّ أَزْنَى الزِّنَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ، اسْتِحْلَالُ عِرْضِ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ " . ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : ( وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِغَيْرِ مَا اكْتَسَبُوا ) . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "Do you know what the greatest form of zina (adultery) is in the sight of Allah Almighty?" The people submitted: "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The greatest form of zina in the sight of Allah Almighty is that the honour of a Muslim man be treated as lawful (to violate)." Then he recited this verse: "Those who harm believing men and believing women for something they have not done."
