وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يُؤْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ الَّذِي كَانَ يَغْتَابُ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : كُلْ لَحْمَ أَخِيكَ مَيِّتًا كَمَا أَكَلْتَهُ حَيًّا " . فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
It is reported from him that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man who used to backbite people in this world will be brought, and it will be said to him: 'Eat the flesh of your dead brother, just as you ate his flesh while he was alive.'" Then the narrator mentioned the rest of the hadith as before.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Ibn Ishaq, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
