بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْغِيبَةِ وَالنَّمِيمَةِ

Majma al-Zawaid 13123 — Reports on backbiting and talebearing
وَبِسَنَدِهِ قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَنِ النَّمِيمَةِ وَالِاسْتِمَاعِ إِلَى النَّمِيمَةِ . رَوَاهُمَا الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ فُرَاتُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
It is reported with the same chain that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade talebearing and listening to talebearing. Al-Tabarani recorded both reports in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; the chain contains Furat bin al-Sa'ib, who is matruk (abandoned).
